This Marc-Antoine Charpentier short motet was first published in a collection of various music (Meslanges) in 1730. Charpentier composed on this text (even if he was not musician at the Versailles King's Court) at least five versions. This one is the shortest and simplest. It can be sung either in choir or by 2 soloists. The quantified bass-continuation part is essential.
