Composed in 1663, the "Airs à 4, basse continu, (...), on the paraphrase of some psalms and hymns by Messire Antoine Godeau" are small motets representative of French Baroque music in the time of Louis th 14th in Paris and in Versailles.

"Since the Grace of the Lord" (text in French) is a paraphrase of the BishopAntoine Godeau (1605-1672) of psalm 33. Its author, bishop of Vence and Grasse, has written numerous Christian poetic texts, homilies and poems. His paraphrases of psalms were used by different composers in the 17th century.
