Gilles Bracquet (15 ..- 1559) composer who worked in Ypres, probably, in Aire sur la Lys and Notre-Dame de Paris. He is the author of masses, motets and style song called "Parisian" (song gallant, courteous and pictorial).
Ypres is a city in West Flanders. Opulent drapery city, seat of a bishopric, it was, until recently, a very turbulent history.
This song, released in 1556 in Antwerp, honors the city girls, their pace and their charms. It does not present any particular difficulties both in terms of ambitus and melodic lines.
