Le "Mariage aux lanternes" (The Wedding by Lantern-Light) is an operetta in one act created in 1857 in Paris, at the Bouffes-Parisiens, Jacques Offenbach's theater.

A young farmer is secretly in love with a young orphan who, in turn, has a crush on the farmer (like two widows in the village). A meeting organized by an uncle under the tree in the square will provoke a series of misunderstandings, blunders and quarrels until the happy outcome of the case.
