This Stabat Mater Dolorosa composed between 1911-1912 and lasting 12 to 15 minutes, alternates the stanzas sung by the choir and those sung in psalmody.
Fernand de la Tombelle, very sensitive to access to music for all, wrote a simple, fluid music, without any real difficulties for the choir. His score is however very rich with harmonic stanzas and others truly polyphonic. It can be sung in 2 equal voices, the male voice not being required. However, it would be a shame to deprive yourself of the harmonic and melodic contribution of this line ... An emotional work to discover!
